About The Author

Carmen FoxCarmen lives in the south of England with her beloved tea maker and a stuffed sheep called Fergus. An avid reader since childhood, she caught the writing bug when her Nana asked her to write a story. She also has a law degree, studied physics for a few years, dabbled in marketing and human resources, and speaks native-level German and fluent Geek. Her preferred niches of geekdom are tabletop games, comics, sci-fi and fantasy.

She writes about smart women with sassitude, about pretty cool guys too, and will chase that plot twist, no matter how elusive.

Expect to be kept guessing.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Carmen Fox hasn’t had an easy life. Growing up abandoned in an old rabbit warren, she… Hang on. That’s the beginning of another story.

HOW IT ALL REALLY BEGAN

Carmen’s path to becoming a writer started, and nearly ended, with her Nana. When Carmen needed a car but was short on cash, her nan lent her the money. Every month, she’d send a prearranged sum in repayment. In lieu of interest, her nan asked Carmen to write her a story.

So with each letter, Carmen would stuff the cash in an envelope, together with a new chapter of Nonia, a story about two families sharing one house, one firmly set in our reality, the other a ghost family. When, gripped by a fever, the mortal boy becomes aware of the ghosts’ existence, the walls between realities break down. Powerful forces fear losing control over the afterlife and set in motion a chain of events that will change mankind’s lives – and deaths – forever.

In September 2008, Nana died.

Carmen never finished that story.

But through her nan’s encouragement, she’d found the thing that made her the happiest she’s ever been. She’d become a writer.
